Parking Lot | Delegation As a continent, conduct some mini-research on the term delegation. Develop a one sentence definition of the term. Record the definition on our Parking Lot. Select one continent representative to share out definition. Compass Point | Étude Model UN Global Issue Model United Nations (UN) is an exploration of the world’s most important issues in disarmament and international security, economics, human rights, and peace efforts. Model UN gives you a chance to learn about different countries, international topics and foreign policies in order to develop solutions to global issues from multiple perspectives. For the Étude Model UN Project, you will construct a paper in response to a modern global issue. This paper will be written on behalf of and from the perspective of your researched country. In other words, it states the position or stance your country has taken in regards to the issue. You will then present the ideas of your paper to your continent group during Delegations. As a group, you will respond to all papers in debate format, followed by collaboratively constructing a resolution to the issue based on your various ideas. In order to determine the global issue you will focus on, complete the Compass Points routine while reading the first three pages of the Étude Model UN packet (taken from the Wisconsin High School Model United Nations Conference in Milwaukee). As a group, share out your excitements and worries then determine a way to decide which issue your will research and debate at delegation.
